4-Step Basic Connection and Configuration Procedure :

Step 1: Hardware Connection (Wiring): Connect the Profibus cable from the PLC to the first Drive, then daisy-chain it to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th units. Note to flip the terminator switch to ON at the Profibus connector of the last station (e.g., the 725A or 110A unit, depending on the physical wiring layout).

Step 2: Set Node Address (Station Address) on the Parker 590P: Use the keypad display (the orange one shown in the image) to navigate to the SERIAL LINKS -> PROFI-BUS menu to set a unique address for each unit (e.g., Node 3, Node 4, Node 5…).

Step 3: Configuration in PLC Software (TIA Portal / Simatic Step 7): Import the Parker 590P GSD file into the hardware configuration. Set up the I/O memory area (Input/Output data words) for data exchange.
- Step 4: Configure Control Parameters on the Drive: Configure the start/stop command source and the speed setpoint source to receive data from the communication network instead of the traditional terminal blocks.
