⚙️ AC30 Inverter Upgrade for Large-Scale PP Film Production Line
In October, Kỹ Thuật Việt successfully upgraded the rewinding units of a large PP film blowing line using Parker AC30 inverters to control servo motors.
This PP film production line is one of the three largest in southern Vietnam, capable of blowing film up to 5 meters wide before slitting into smaller rolls for printing companies.
🎯 System Challenges
The existing rewinder units used old DC drives and DC motors, which had reached end-of-life. The torque-controlled winding system required precise force control, while space constraints made motor replacement difficult.

Due to limited space, standard motors were not suitable. Servo motors became the optimal solution. With expertise in DC drives, we smoothly converted the system from DC to Parker AC30 inverters while taking full advantage of AC30’s integrated torque control for servo motors.
The Parker AC30 inverter, built with robust European hardware and long-lasting reliability, supports torque and speed feedback through encoder using the free PDQ (Parker Drive Quick) software.

⏱️ Installation Time
To meet the maintenance schedule, the installation of servo motors and AC30 inverters was completed within a single day.
✅ Results
The AC30 and servo motors were fully compatible with the PP film line. The system now operates stably without downtime, and production speed and efficiency increased by 20%.
